With the PPI deadline now just five months away, Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis is encouraging people to submit their PPI claims.
The clock is ticking… Our PPI deadline countdown shows you exactly how many days you have left to reclaim PPI. The deadline on 29th August was set by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and sought to put an end to the mis-selling scandal, encouraging people to make a claim, rather than put it off.
If you’ve heard about making a claim or seen Martin Lewis discussing PPI on TV, we’re here to tell you a bit more about how to submit a claim before the looming deadline.
Martin Lewis and PPI Claims
Martin Lewis has been active in urging customers to submit PPI claims before the impending deadline. During his television show, he explained the PPI deadline and how consumers can file claims.
In March, the Money Saving Expert asked his Twitter followers how many individuals have made claims and how many more are yet to do so.
Over a quarter of his followers haven’t yet tried to claim PPI — meaning thousands of people could potentially be due a refund — if they act before the deadline. It’s also possible that the 21% who claimed but never got a refund could try again, thanks to the Plevin ruling.
As an advocate for reclaiming PPI yourself, he outlines how customers can submit claims before the deadline on 29th August. At Canary Claims, we have plenty of information about how to claim PPI and we can also submit a claim on your behalf if you don’t have the time to or don’t want the hassle of going through the process yourself.
How Does Money Saving Expert Make Money?
Money Saving Expert (MSE) provides free information about PPI claims and other financial services. Its advice reaches millions of UK consumers — but many might not be aware of how Money Saving Expert makes money.
It doesn’t advertise on its site and instead works on an affiliate link scheme. Once its writers create an article, they look for opportunities to link to websites. These websites may give Money Saving Expert money for referring a customer. This might be if an individual clicks through to its website from MSE or buys the recommended product.
The website works in favour of the consumer and shows them the best deals and possibilities available to them. Martin Lewis has become a strong influencer and trusted individual when people need to make financial choices or are looking for an investment.
Make a PPI Claim before the Deadline
As Martin Lewis promotes, you can claim PPI yourself. But the clock is ticking, so you must start as soon as possible. The number of PPI complaints is increasing — in the first half of 2018, the banks received 1.72 million PPI complaints. This is an increase compared to the complaints made in 2017.
If you don’t have the time to submit a claim yourself, you can contact Canary Claims and we will submit your claim to the bank for you. We contact any banks and lenders that may have mis-sold you a PPI policy and can help you identify old policies — even if you no longer have the financial paperwork.
The average PPI claim is £1,700, so it’s 100% worthwhile taking the time to check if you are eligible for a refund. Act now before it’s too late.
Canary Claims is a London-based PPI claims company. We charge just 15% + VAT (18% total) on all successful claims and operate on a no-win, no-fee basis. Start your claim today before the deadline.
