The History of Canary Claims

Canary Claims was founded in 2005 to help customers who were mis-sold endowment mortgages. In 2008 we shifted our attention and resources towards a new financial mis-selling scandal that had been brewing for some years, payment protection insurance.

Canary Claims was one of the very first pioneers trialling payment protection insurance (PPI) claims against the banks and financial institutions. At the time, we were one of a handful of claims management companies and law firms generating awareness of PPI and helping the general public to claim back their money.

Our Team

At Canary Claims, we benefit from our own in-house lawyers and a management team with decades of experience in IT and finance. Our expertise in IT has enabled us to devise and streamline systems that help us to process claims efficiently, reducing costs for you and ensuring that we deliver excellent customer service.

Our company’s Operations Manager has a Masters degree in Financial Engineering, which has been invaluable in helping us to understand financial products and how to redress calculations.

Most of our Claims Handlers have degrees in law and have previously worked for law firms or banks. Our Claims Team Manager is highly experienced and worked as a PPI Complaints Quality Checker for one of the major banks. All of this expertise enables us to have first-hand knowledge of how financial institutions review these cases.
